We Are All One

We Are All One is the most beautiful book by the talented Britta Teckentrup. With Britta's familiar, detailed and colourful illustrations the reader is taken on a stunning journey through raindrops, rivers and under stars, exploring the beauty of our world.

The flowing, rhyming text engages the reader with the breathtaking world we live in hand in hand with the children and animals that grace the pages of this book. The illustrations are woven around cut-outs, which add wonder and excitement to the book as there are new elements of nature to explore.

We Are All One is a fabulous book to share with children because it reminds us that we are all responsible for our world which is filled with "seeds in the ground" and that we are all part of this wonderful world, sharing it with all the creatures, connected as ONE EARTH.

This book is perfect to use when learning about the world and children will love spotting the beautiful animals on each page and talking about how we can care for our earth. This book needs to be in every school library and is a fantastic addition to the other books by Britta Teckentrup.

We Are All One is an absolutely beautiful picture book that details how we are all connected to each other and to nature. The message is simple and reflected in the sparce text on each page but the message is an important one - how we are all linked together.

The text has a simple rhyme scheme that gives a lyrical quality, making it flow and seems almost song like. The pages are beautifully linked by clever die-cuts, linking every page to the one before and the one after. Children will love spotting these links and seeing glimpses of the next pages, trying to work out what the next image may be.

We Are All One feels like a classic book to own - it will make both a special gift and a lovely one to share with children of all ages. In the classroom, it's a lovely text with PSED/PSHE links to community and global identity. It would also be a good one for Understanding the World or science, looking at the environment and how seasonal changes are presented on the book. For slightly older children, I think it could inspire some beautiful nature poems and be a lovely one to study when thinking about rhyme scheme as the rhymes are so natural and not forced.

This is a book that will be absolutely treasured in our house.
