Synopsis

Bees are one of the hardest working insects on our planet. As they buzz from plant to plant, they spread pollen which helps our food to grow. Without them, the world would be a very different place.

Discover all you need to know about bees and their place in our world through experiments, investigations, and hands-on tasks.

This book takes a cross-disciplinary approach, including links to culture, history, arts and crafts, as well as the science behind the topic, encouraging children to engage with the natural world through exploration, creativity, and investigation.

Reviews

Louise

One of the best information books for this age group I have read for a long time. Packed full of more unusual facts about bees in a very child-friendly, useable way, the book provides wide coverage of bees with informations ranging from weather to honey, as well as why bees are our friends and suggestions on activities of how to save bees. The book helps us to learn about bees and their place in our world through experiments, investigations, and hands-on tasks. The book successfully mixes facts with fiction, fiction with poetry, poetry with myths and myths with practical ideas. This book is as busy as the bees it teaches us about in delivering a widely extensive information book. A great book to use in tha classroom to support project work or to just dip in and out of at home with the children. 64 pages / Ages 6-9 years / Reviewed by Louise Gahan, teacher.
