Emma Chichester Clark has written a super tale about Lily and Blue Kangaroo. This story explores how Lily learns to be independent when she asks adults to help her with different things but they are too busy to do so. I love the way that in this book, Lily shows that she she can do lots of things by herself and how Blue Kangaroo congratulates her for her achievements. This is a book I would use with my class. It would compliment our schools focus on independent learning, especially as younger children will often ask for adult help before they try something themselves. I am definitely going to be referring to Lily and how she always tries herself to do something as I think this will give children in my class someone they can relate to. Great book, I can't wait to use it!
