Little wolf was wide awake! He decides sleep must be hiding somewhere so he sets off (rather nosily) to find it. On the way he disturbs Badger, Hedgehog and Rabbit, who all join the escapade to hunt for sleep. Owl peers down from her wise old perch and declares that they might not ever find sleep, but not to worry because sleep will find them. But only if they are tired, and still, and feeling safe....just like when you're listening to a bedtime story.

The illustrations are beautiful! The blue and purple hues that are used throughout fill the book with a sense of calm. It feels like the pages are lit up by the light of the moon in the night sky. The story is calming, relaxing, and make an ideal bedtime read. This is a book that will show children how sleep comes and hopefully have them snuggling down into bed after you have read it to, or with them and gently falling asleep.

At school we read this to our children when we wanted to instil a sense of calm during a particularly busy week at school. It was particularly useful for a child who we knew was finding bedtimes challenging - we sent this home as a sharing book and parents were very positive about its effects.
