Synopsis

Celebrate 20 incredible years of Wizardology with this special anniversary edition and unlock secrets written by Merlin himself. The groundbreaking Ology series, which includes Dragonology and Egyptology, has sold more than 18 MILLION copies worldwide. Perfect for fans of Harry Potter!

After the legendary wizard Merlin was bound to a tree by magic, he used part of that tree to create a guide for apprentices of the mystical arts seeking to master Wizardology.

First printed in the Elizabethan era, Templar has republished this special edition of the ancient tome to ignite the next generation of wizards, including intricate novelty elements such as magical moving illustrations, a scrap of a fairy flag, a phoenix feather, a deck of divination cards and the gemstone of a true wizard's staff.

Reviews

Sue

When my son was little, we had the whole 'Ology' series. Dragons, myths, Egypt, pirates, oceans, the excitement caused by a new title was wonderful and the whole family has fond memories of these books. It seems impossible to believe that Wizardology is now 20 years old, but its pages still retain the magic which made it such fun to read all those years ago!

Instantly appealing with its satisfyingly heavy and beautifully presented cover, 'Wizardology' feels magical before its even been opened. Opening the 'jewelled' cover, weighty pages with detailed borders add to the overall aesthetic and interactive elements throughout will tempt even the most reluctant reader to engage and investigate.

Each chapter covers a different area from a wizard's familiars to crystal gazing, from alchemy to famous wizards. Eye-catching illustrations and diagrams support the text with labels and captions offering additional information and there is plenty to explore on every page, including tempting flaps to lift and mini-books to open. A magical phoenix feather, a set of cards for divination and a wizard's apothecary are a few of the treats to be discovered on your journey through the book!

Fans of Harry Potter and other magical series of books will enjoy seeing references to things like the Philosopher's Stone, the phoenix and wands. One of the many joys of these books is that they inspire children to create their own 'ology'-style books, gathering together information, creating mini-books and collecting 'artefacts' relating to any topic which captures their interest. We used to have great fun with this, often taking an outing as the inspiration!
