You're My Little Sunshine

You're My Little Sunshine is a book to enjoy together with the little rays of light in your life. It is the newest addition to the best-selling 'You're My Little...' series, which are board books made to nourish the relationship between parent and child. In this book, as with all of the books in this series, your little one's hands are treated to a tactile experience that is different from many other children's books. Natalie Marshall chooses to use peek-through holes and raised illustrations that little hands can bump their fingers along and trace the outlines of. We can feel: the bright, circular sunshine; the oval peas in a pod; the vibrant, sugar frosted cupcake and more!

The rhythmic text celebrates the relationship between parent and child. Each rhyming couplet ends on uplifting, positive words. For example: light with bright and forever with together. We are immersed in words of love, such as: sweet pea, kisses, cutie pie, sweetness and snuggle. It really is a book to warm your heart. 

For that reason, this book is ideal to read if a child is feeling any separation anxiety after their parent has been away. Or, to read beforehand in preparation for any time apart. It reinforces how important children are to their parents and how loved they are. My Little Sunshine and I really like taking the time to have a cuddle and enjoy such a sweet book.
