What an unexpected find the Zoom books were - this one is the Zoom Building Site Adventure, which is great to help teach building and construction with young children, but there is also Zoom Farm Adventure in the series. These are small, sturdy board books with peep-throughs and a lovely pop-up on the final pages showing the (very exciting!) finished building.
Young children will enjoy the range of diggers and trucks; older children will also learn about construction techniques, so these are good early STEM books, too. You learn what different vehicles do, from diggers to cement mixers, and also about machines that lift things. The pages take you through clearing the site, laying the foundations and building the frame of the building, so although the text is simple, it describes a lot about the process of building, through the eyes and adventures of a young child.
Definitely one for young children who love diggers and learning about the world around them, and excellent for teaching construction with KS1, and for EYFS projects on vehicles.
