500 Words competition

The BBC's popular short story writing competition, 500 Words, is back and is inviting children aged five to 13 years to send in their short stories! The competition closes at 7pm on Thursday 23rd February.

The story can be any subject or theme but must be told in 500 Words or fewer. This year's judges include Malorie Blackman, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, Charlie Higson and Francesca Simon. The winning story will be read live on the radio by a superstar celebrity and will be heard by ten million Radio 2 listeners. Last year, more than 120,000 children entered the competition!
