Not-for profit organisations in Scotland can apply to Scottish Book Trust's Live Literature remote event funding for support to host events or projects with authors.

The Live Literature fund supports remote events and activity across Scotland during lockdown, involving writers from the Live Literature Author Directory. The organisation said, "We're looking to support activity that ensures people in Scotland can continue to enjoy the benefits of reading and writing at a time when in-person events cannot take place. "This could be any project involving a writer from the Live Literature Author Directory which follows social distancing guidelines." For example, projects could include a remotely delivered workshop or reading; a podcast or local radio recording; a piece of commissioned work displayed in the community or inserted into food parcels; no-contact delivery or anything else that will benefit an audience or community during this time. Scottish Book Trust will cover the full fee of 175, paid directly to the author, as well as providing help and advice with planning and promoting the session. Organisations can apply up to Friday 22 May 2020 and funding decisions will be made within a month from the date of the application. The final date for submitting applications is Friday 22 May: Authors much be commissioned by 5th June, and the event must happen before Tuesday 1st September. Authors can claim the full fee of 175 directly from Scottish Book Trust at the commissioning or booking stage. Find out more about eligibility etc, here:
