Can your school help judge the Blue Peter Book Awards?

Schools can apply to be one of the judging schools for the Blue Peter Awards 2019. Schools have until 5pm on 12th October to apply online, via the link below.
There are two categories in the Blue Peter Book Awards including the Best Story and the Best Book with Facts. Schools that are chosen to help judge the winners of the award will be notified in November. Participating schools must be able to involve at least 20 pupils in year 5 and/or 6 (or P6 and P7 in Scotland) to vote for their favourite book in each category. Any pupil who votes must have read all three shortlisted books in the category they are voting in. Shortlisted books will be circulated to pupil judges after the shortlist is announced on 8th November 2018. Pupils' votes must be received at BookTrust by Friday 25th January 2019. This year's judges, who will select of shortlist of three books for each of the two categories, include author and lifestyle blogger Louise Pentland, Claude creator Alex T Smith, and teacher and writer Darren Chetty, as well as Blue Peter editor Ewan Vinnicombe. Previous Blue Peter Book Award winners include Cressida Cowell, Michael Morpurgo, Katherine Rundell, Oliver Jeffers and Liz Pichon.
