Since schools closed last month, English teacher Holly King-Mand has been delivering a variety of free, live and interactive English lessons for KS1-3 on her YouTube channel - English with Holly - at 11am every weekday.

Holly's lessons cover a range of topics such as writing news articles, fronted adverbials, William Shakespeare, using poetic devices and a weekly spelling test. Each lesson is around 25 minutes and has an accompanying task sheet, allowing students to extend and consolidate their learning at home through a range of activities that target different learning styles and abilities. The task sheets can be downloaded from Holly's Facebook page (English with Holly) where parents can find further information, look through previous lessons, and also share examples of their child's work. Thousands are tuning in to each lesson from all over the world, some citing it as a 'home schooling lifesaver'. Holly explains, "The lessons are not intended to provide deep learning experiences, but more to keep young people using their brains, stay engaged with their learning, and develop a love of English."
