Don't forget to order your free School Library Pack for pupils aged 11-14 years, funded by Arts Council England and supported by Booktrust. The packs will be delivered in January 2020.

The School Library Pack and Special School Library Pack are reading for pleasure programmes giving free books to every Secondary Schools in England with a year 7 (or equivalent) intake. Each pack includes books that are relevant for students aged 11-14, and can be used in the classroom or school library, in special schools or mainstream schools. Containing carefully selected book collections for year 7-9 students, the packs are intended to boost schools' library provision, broadening students' reading and encouraging them to try different genres and authors. The Special School Library Pack includes books and resources to support students with additional needs, while the School Library Pack is designed to cover a broad range of reading abilities and interests. You can only choose one pack per school. The School Library Pack includes 40 free books across three categories - Future Classics, Reluctant Readers and Non-Fiction - with 5 titles per category and multiple copies of the Future Classics. The Special School Library Pack, for students with additional needs, is a collection of ten books selected by a panel of SEND practitioners. Covering themes and topics appropriate for 11-14 year olds, the pack includes a variety of accessible formats including sensory books, interactive books, picture books, dyslexia friendly books, short fiction, books with audio CDs and graphic novels. As well as the selection of books, the packs include practitioner guidance and resources to help create enjoyable, social reading experiences such as book clubs to help make reading fun.
