National Literacy Trust creates 'Literacy Toolkit'

The National Literacy Trust and publisher Walker Books have created a 'Literacy Toolkit' of books and resources that businesses can gift to local primary schools or community groups.

Each box, which costs 650, includes a range of 50 books from Walker Books, aimed at children aged two to 11 years; activity sheets and other information for teachers to use in the classroom and send home; guidance and templates to help schools engage parents and the local community; plus National Literacy Trust membership for a local school for one year. Provident Financial has gifted the boxes to 24 primary schools in Bradford. Businesses are also encouraged to buy the toolkit to support their own employees as parents.
