This year's National Poetry Day - an annual celebration of poetry - is taking place on Thursday 28th September.
The day reminds us to share, read, write and enjoy poetry and for schools is often an opportunity to celebrate poetry across the school, and to launch new experiences featuring poetry. A range of free resources and materials are available on the National Poetry Day website - see link, below - including a selection of poems on the National Poetry Day 2017 theme of FREEDOM to get your class inspired as well as other online resources and inspiration. Free display packs are available, or you can download them from the website, including posters by Sophie Herxheimer, the National Poetry Day artist/poet, for your poetry displays. #NationalPoetryDay.
