Children's book and illustration magazine Scoop has closed and its owner Curious Publishing has ceased trading.
In a statement on Twitter, the magazine said: "From August 11th 2021 Curious Publishing Ltd has ceased trading. Scoop magazine is no longer in operation. This is terribly hard news to announce. We did everything we could to could carry on publishing a magazine we all love and are proud of. "
Curios Publishing Ltd ceased trading on 11th August. The company said it was unable to fulfil orders for those who have already subscribed or are awaiting further magazines.
The magazine was founded by Clementine Macmillan-Scott, co-ordinator of the Galle Literary Festival and the Galle Children’s Festival, in 2016 for eight to 12-year-olds who love reading. It was edited by Sarah Odedina, editor-at-large for Pushkin Press.
The magazine featured stories and poetry from authors, as well as non-fiction, comic strips, puzzles, reviews and competitions.
