Secret Breakers, a middle grade adventure series by Helen Dennis, could be making its way onto television screens following a deal by publisher Hodder Children's Books with Sparticles Production.

Karen Lawler, Senior Licensing Manager at Hachette Children's Group, said, "Secret Breakers is an intricately plotted, fast-paced global thriller with brilliant characters at its heart. It's the perfect project for TV development." Sparticles Productions is best-known for its hit CBBC series The Sparticle Mystery, and has a reputation for producing ambitious live-action children's drama. First published in 2012, Secret Breakers is an award-winning six-book adventure series featuring real-life unbreakable codes which the characters have to solve. The reader also cracks codes hidden within the text. Sparticles Productions is planning a serialised drama for a young adult audience, which will follow the Secret Breakers books but also expand on the world that Helen Dennis created. Alison Hume, who is a screenwriter and executive producer at Sparticles Productions, said the company was attracted to the series by Helen Dennis' original take on the world of code-breaking. "The world Helen has created in her book series is incredibly rich and offers huge dramatic possibilities. We know that audiences will be swept along with the epic quest to crack the most mysterious code in the world."
