SLA's new Community and Enterprise Awards

The School Librarians' Association (SLA) has added two new awards for 2022: the Community Award and the Enterprise of the Year Award, and is changing the format of its School Librarian of the Year Award.
The Enterprise of the Year Award will celebrate one-off or progressive school library projects which develop literacy, community and independence in children.
The Community Award will recognise community effort by celebrating the high-quality working partnerships that exist in so many schools across the country. It will be open to external teams, local businesses and even individuals who have gone 'above and beyond' to support a school library.
The School Librarian of the Year award will now be split into a Primary and Secondary category for the first time. The judges will be looking for inspiring work in the same areas, but this new split will allow them to take into account the different contexts that exist within primary and secondary schools.
