What will you be reading this World Book Day? There are loads of stories to exchange for your special World Book Day voucher! Read about aliens, a magical treehouse or discover the Bolds, a family of hyenas who pretend to be human!

This month you can visit your local bookshop to exchange your 1 World Book Day voucher - which you should be given by your school - for the following books. Or you can buy the books for 1 each. These are this year's World Book Day 1 books for children: - Paddington Turns Detective and Other Funny Stories by Michael Bond, illustrated by Peggy Fortnum (HarperCollins) Nothing is ever straightforward when Paddington is involved. Whether he is attempting detective work, helping to sail a boat or performing magic, ordinary things have a habit of becoming quite extraordinary! - Nadiya's Bake Me a Story by Nadiya Hussain, illustrated by Clair Rossiter (Hodder Children's Books) Join Britain's favourite baker Nadiya and her children for scrumptious stories and delicious bakes. - Terry's Dumb Dot Story: A Treehouse Tale by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton (Macmillan) Meet Andy and Terry, the co-creators of Terry's Dumb Dot Story. They make books together in the world's coolest treehouse! But this time they can't agree about a special story for World Book Day and it's not just Mr Big Nose keeping an eye on them now, but the story police too! - The Girl Who Thought She Was a Dog by Clare Balding, illustrated by Tony Ross (Puffin) A funny and heart-warming new animal story. - Brain Freeze by Tom Fletcher, illustrated by Shane Devries (Puffin) The End... I know that's not how stories usually start. But my story is about time travel. And not everything happens in the right order... Izzy's grandpa was an ice-cream man, and he used to tell the BEST stories. There was the one about giving a 99 Flake to a Pharaoh in Ancient Egypt and another about feeding a Fab to a hungry T-Rex. But what if they weren't just stories? What if that blue ice-cream van had a secret magic of its own? Intrigued? Then open this World Book Day book and prepare to get frozen in time... - The Bolds' Great Adventure by Julian Clary, illustrated by David Roberts (Andersen Press) This is a special adventure for World Book Day with Teddington's wildest family! Learn just how our intrepid hyenas managed to get from their African safari park onto the plane and off to their new home in England. It's quite a remarkable, and some would say, unbelievable tale but there are many laughs along the way! - Marvel's The Avengers: The Greatest Heroes by Alastair Dougall (DK) Discover the Avengers' astonishing super powers and awesome costumes. Learn all about the Super Heroes' origins and their important roles on the team. Meet loyal allies, from Spider-Man to the Guardians of the Galaxy, and find out about clashes with fierce Super Villain foes, including Loki and Thanos. - Rugby Roar by Gerard Siggins (O'Brien Press) Ireland only.
