Winners of the 2017 Picture Book Awards

The winners of the English 4-11 Picture Book Awards, which celebrate some of the best illustrated books for younger readers, have been announced. the awards are run by the English Association.

The English Association looks for 'Words and pictures that perfectly collide to create moments of magic on the page' to help build a lifelong love of reading. The winners of the English 4-11 Picture Book Awards are as follows: Fiction 4-7 Oi Dog! by Kes & Claire Gray, illustrated by Jim Field (Hachette) Fiction 7-11 The Journey by Francesca Sanna (Flying Eye Books) Non-Fiction 4-7 The Big Book of Bugs by Yuval Zommer & Barbara Wilson (Thames & Hudson) Non-Fiction 7-11 The Stone Age: Hunters, Gatherers and Woolly Mammoths by Marcia Williams (Walker Books) The awards will be presented at the English Association's Annual General Meeting on 24th May at the British Academy in London.
