World Book Day & BBC online activities
This year's World Book Day looks to be a very different one for schools and families. Online resources will include a live lesson from the BBC on 4th March at 11.30am, to celebrate books and reading, and online masterclasses on the World Book Day website.
The 30-minute Live Lesson, hosted by CBBC's Ben Shires and Bitesize Daily's Mr Smith and tied into key curriculum objectives for Key Stage 2/2nd Level, will be live on BBC Teach and on the CBBC channel.
The live lesson will cover themes in stories and how to identify them, hearing about the stories children have been reading and some of their favourite themes, and meeting some of the incredible people that write them. To wrap up the Live Lesson, there will also be a live question and answer session with an author.
This lesson will be supported by additional resources from Twinkl, released closer to World Book Day.
World Book Day has also made available a range of online author videos by World Book Day authors, including Katherine Rundell's 'Imagine a Wild Adventure', Sita Brahmachari's storytelling tips and Jess French's 'Protect the Planet' sessions.
