About Author
Ann Turnbull's first novel was published in 1974 and since then she has written over 30 books for children and young people of all ages. Her novels include 'Deep Water', 'A Long Way Home' and 'Pigeon Summer', which was was shortlisted for the Smarties Book Prize and the WH Smith Mind-Boggling Books Award and has been dramatized for television by Channel 4.
The bestselling novel set in a Quaker community in 17th century England, 'No Shame, No Fear', was shortlisted for both the Whitbread Children's Book Award and the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize in 2004. A sequel, 'Forged in the Fire', is due for publication in 2006. Ann lives in the West Midlands with her family.
