About Author

Bruce Ingman is an internationally acclaimed award-winning author and illustrator.

Born in Liverpool, he studied at the Royal College of Art. His first book, When Martha's Away, won the prestigious Mother Goose Award for the Best British Newcomer to Children's Picture Books (1996) and The V&A Illustration Award (1996).

His partnership with author Allan Ahlberg has yielded many successes including, The Runaway Dinner, Previously, Everybody was a Baby Once and The Pencil - Winner of the Redhouse Childrens Picture Book Award and Time magazine's Children's Book of the Year. Their latest book, Hooray for Bread, was published in February 2013.

Bruce has also recently illustrated Ronny Rock Starring in Monster Cake Meltdown and Ronny Rock Starring in a Thousand Tiny Explosions written by Merryn Threadgould.

His next book, Henry Tate, which he has written and illustrated, will be published by Tate Publishing in 2014.

He is an Ambassador for the House of Illustration, the world's first dedicated home for the art of illustration; from adverts to animation, picture books to political cartoons and scientific drawings to fashion design.
