JOHNNY BALL has masterminded and presented more than 20 children's television series about maths and science. He is best known for the hit BBC series Think of a Number, in which his unique blend of zany humour, boundless enthusiasm, and expert knowledge turned maths and science into pure entertainment. fascinating to boot.
Johnny presented the children's TV series Playschool for 17 years before turning to factual programmes. His shows and videos have earned him a New York International EMMY nomination, a BAFTA, and 10 other awards. He has written five children's books and an educational musical, 'Tales of Maths and Legends', which packed UK theatres throughout 2000, selling 160,000 tickets. His academic credentials include three honorary science doctorates and Fellowship of the Mathematical Association.
