A Million Dots

This is a gorgeous book and a New York Times' top 10 best illustrated children's books list of 2019. It is fantastic for promoting maths with younger children. The book starts with one dot, that doubles to 2, which doubles to 4...carrying on until the last page which folds out to reveal over a million dots! A Million Dots is a beautiful book to browse and to share; it's stylish, and the dots cleverly form the illustrations on the pages. It would be perfect to use to introduce children to doubling, as well as when helping them to visualise big numbers. It would be great to use in class with children of all ages - and it provides a lovely art/maths cross curricular link and stimulus. 44 pages / Ages 4+ / Reviewed by Lizi Backhouse, teacher
