Amanda

If you haven't already fallen in love with little Pedro and the Adventure Mice, then you are in for an absolute treat. True to form this newest adventure is carefully written with carefully pitched language to provide the perfect level of challenge to the early chapter book reader.

The text is carefully sectioned into short chapters and the beautiful colour illustrations add detail whilst ensuring the amount of text on a page is not overwhelming. The line spacing has been designed to allow readers to easily track where they are.

The topic of space is one that interests most of us and this story capitalises on the idea of the moon being made of cheese. So many times we think that we are the first to do something and yet someone has been there before us and this is brilliantly captured in this story.

The gentle humour in this pacey adventure is just what the young chapter book reader is looking for and would be at the top of my list for a Year 2-4 book shelf (ages 6-8 years). This book would also be a wonderful study text for a group looking to study character and plot development.

Adventure Mice are one of my favourite series and I look forward to reading the next one.
