The Little People Big Dreams series of books are great for introducing younger readers to outstanding people, from artists to scientists, throughout history and the modern day. All achieved incredible things, yet each began life as a child with a dream.
This one is about the author of Pippi Longstocking, Astrid Lindgren. A rebel through and through, the story follows Lindgren as she grows up, has children of her own and creates Pippi Longstocking along the way. It's a story of drive and success whilst also being true to yourself and your dreams - in Lindgren's case, she didn't want to grow up!
The book has a facts and pictures section at the end, with a more detailed biography. It's easily accessible and interesting for both adults and children alike. This book would be great to share with children to inspire them and encourage them to think about what they'd like to be as they grow up.
