Synopsis

A fantastic rhyming, prehistoric debut from Emi-Lou May that's packed with lovable dinosaur characters from Leire Martin!

Thumping head? Tummy ache? Nose all sore and sniffy?
Then call for Doctorsaurus and she'll fix you in a jiffy!

Triceratops has hurt his horn and T-Rex's nose is all blocked and snotty. Join Doctorsaurus as she races to the rescue and helps the poorly dinosaurs feel better. But when Brontosaurus has a tummy ache, the dinosaurs get a little more than they bargained for!

This light-hearted, poop-tastic and enjoyable story is the perfect tonic for all poorly toddlers. Ideal for fans of all things dinosaurs and readers of The Dinosaur That Pooped a. . . series, Zog and the Flying Doctors and Gigantosaurus.

Doctosaurus explores the different injuries and sickness that often lead to a trip to the doctor. It's is filled with different dinosaurs with medical issues, such as Triceratops breaking his horn in three and T-Rex having a thumping head, sneezing, and sniffing. They all get help from their local doctor - Doctorsaurus - who fixes all their problems, including giving prunes to one who can't go to the toilet. (Hilarious for children, but might might have parents and carers pulling a few faces!).  The plot is highly amusing and I love how helpful Doctorsaurus is to all her patients. The dinosaurs appreciate her so much that they even throw her a party.

This book will be brilliant in exploring and settling nerves for children that have to go to / have regular appointments with doctors. We read it to both our Reception and Key Stage 1 children, all of whom enjoyed it. We found it particularly helpful for the groups of children who were feeling anxious about the school nurse and dentist visits.

Written in rhyming text, the story flows easily and our children were able to guess the last word in a few obvious places. It features all the favourite dinosaurs that our future paleontologists know and love. The illustrations are great - vibrant and fun. Lots of bright colours and amusing facial expressions. We all really enjoyed this book.
