Future Vision: Stories of Our Brilliant Tomorrow sits alongside another Button Books title - 100 Ways to Save the Planet, and is just as captivating, engrossing and stylish. In Future Visions, non-fiction takes a giant leap into the future; into 2070, to be precise. Guided by the fictional narrative of 12-year-old Kit, the reader is about to be immersed in the STEM, technology and climate of how our world might look within the decades to come.

The book cleverly takes today's way of life and springboards from it to create a world where 800kph superloop trains and share-hopper taxis exist. Petrol and diesel are energy sources of the past and traffic jams and road accidents are no more. The book presents a possible cleaner, safer, more positive future as if it has already happened, and alongside the author's vision, this book documents the facts and statistics; this is not just a vision of what they want to see.

There is a timeline plotted from 2026-2070, detailing the advances made in humans responsibilities to the natural world. Would you be surprised to know that by 2037, AI will allow humans to understand animal communication for the first time? Day-to-day life will have gone through immense technological advances - film nights at home will be an augmented reality experience with 'skins', so you can be right at the heart of the action of whatever you may be watching. Fresh food, wellbeing, the environment ; all elements of our present are all thriving.

Future Visions is expertly written by scientist Dr Cathy Rogers and illustrated by wildlife-loving Madeleine Rogers. The passion, detail, knowledge and sense of joy and fun that the duo have is absolutely amazing. Their inventiveness in sharing this vision for our world, as if it were already a reality, is a fantastically inspiring and thought-provoking way in which to harness young readers' enthusiasm and engagement in wanting to actively help create such a prosperous future.

Believable, relatable and so relevant - like a blueprint of where the world could be. A hugely meaningful and powerful book for young (and old!) readers.
