This puzzle book from The Week Junior newspaper stands out for its format, a mix of photographs, fact boxes and drawings that make the puzzles and quizzes (over 100 of them) something that children will want to dive into this summer.

The puzzles are sorted into sections including People of the Past, Curious Continents, Earth's Environments and Animals, and within each of these readers will find traditional puzzles like Sudoku, word searches and crosswords but also quizzes, fact-finders, grid puzzles and ciphers.

It's a wonderful mix for journeys, days at the beach or evening wind-downs. Sprinkled within the many activities are facts about our world as well as word play and a longer story at the end of the book, that requires the reader to solve puzzles through the narrative of Bharti's Epic Escape.

In short, The Week Junior Ultimate Puzzles and Quizzes is a very entertaining quiz book that has enough in it to keep children who like learning about the world, and puzzles, entertained.
