What a treat Hello, Frog is, and with some unexpected learning opportunities for a young child. During a journey in the jungle, Frog meets a variety of creatures hidden under flaps of gorgeously coloured flowers, leaves and fruits. As well as the enticing flaps to lift, children have different materials and peep-through holes to try out, until the last page when it's night time, and we say 'goodnight Frog' and 'hello Moth'! The very last spread asks us what Frog saw on his journey, so a child can start to recognise the bugs, birds and flowers on the pages, and return to the story to spot these. Very entertaining and with lots to do on these pages, I would certainly recommend it as an introduction to the natural world.
