Bat's cherries keep going missing. One by one, they are whisked away by mischievous animal tricksters behind Bat's back. Will the cherries ever be restored to their rightful owner? In the hilarious I Am Bat, super-talent Morag Hood cleverly draws the reader into the story as Bat attempts to track down the guilty cherry thief. Everyone's a suspect - including you!
This eye-poppingly colourful, comic book is an instant winner with children and adults alike. The adorably grumpy Bat is quite irresistible.
Reviews
Marie
I Am Bat is a sweet book that would be lovely to read with younger children. This book is very simple. Bat has cherries and he does not want to share them. he tells everyone not to take them and if they do he will be ferocious and scary. However, little paws and beaks start creeping down the page to steal Bat's cherries. Soon he is left with none and he is sad. But then the little paws drop a pear onto the page and all is right again - but now Bat won't share his pear. The simplicity of this book and interactive illustrations means that it is a great book to use with children of a young age. Each page creates lots of opportunity for discussion and response. I would recommend this book the read with early years and KS1 children. Picture book / Ages 2-5 years / Reviewed by Marie Berry, teacher.
