This is a non-fiction book about dinosaurs - but not as you traditionally know it! Instead of large chunks of text, the book is laid out in 100 questions - some are 'lift the flap' to reveal the answer, whilst others are written around charming cartoons. This approach to fact sharing makes it an engaging process for the reader, and also a great way of introducing children who don't particularly enjoy non-fiction books. The facts/answers to the questions are short and easy to understand. The pages are sturdy and the flaps well made - this book will stand the test of time, and lots of little fingers reading it. In school, this would be great for a topic on dinosaurs, looking at how non-fiction books can be structured or for sharing in a small group and researching interesting facts further. 16 pages / Aged 5-8 years / Reviewed by Lizi Combes, teacher.
