Love, the Earth is such an emotive and thought-proving book in the best way possible. It is suitable for the littlest of toddlers right up to late childhood and beyond!
The earth is personified in this story and as it takes us on an artistic, poetic journey around the world, we are inspired to love and treasure the beauty of our world. Tim Hopgood's abstract illustrations are truly captivating. I found myself transfixed on every page as I soaked up the layers of depth within every enchanting illustration.
Tim Hopgood is a successful author and illustrator who really reflects on the beauty of the life we behold. His other books such as The Happy Hut and Hope is the Thing with Feathers are incredibly moving books which are certainly not to be missed.
I appreciate the positivity and love for the world in Frances Stickley’s words as we are reminded of all that Earth does for us. She reminds us that the world is 'all yours to share' and that it promises to 'take care of you'. We are asked if we can take care and show our love for the world in return. We are invited to do this by: providing shelter for and feeding the wildlife; by growing our own food to harvest and share with the birds and bees; and by taking a stand and letting our voices be heard.
This book is delightful beyond words.
