Sam
Luna and her dad live on the moon, where they work as part of a research team collecting rocks and other mineral specimens for scientific study; life for the pair sounds good. The story is told from Luna's perspective, with just the right amount of sci-fi detail and sassy humour you would expect from a young girl. However, when the team need to evacuate the hub to avoid being wiped out by a meteor, Luna gets left behind. Stranded, alone on the moon, Luna must find a way to stay alive while finding some way to let the rest of her team know she is alive, so that they can rescue her before it is too late.
Lunar is a fast-paced space adventure written by Chris Bradford, for Barrington Stoke's dyslexia-friendly books. A short read, ideal for the less confident readers aged nine years plus, but no doubt equally appealing to any young reader, and superbly complimented by some terrific illustrations by Charlotte Grange.
