My Book of Jewish Festivals is a lovely book, with delightful illustrations, that captures the joy and essence of major Jewish festivals. It is a non fiction text, however it is written in a very chatty and accessible way, using all the Hebrew vocabulary (with how to pronounce the words) and nice details. The modern Jewish settings, where men and women are sitting together in synagogue for example, are exactly what I have been looking for to go in the school library.

This is the sort of book children will want to pick up and read because it looks so inviting and it seems to fill a real gap in the market for something less formal about Judaism. It seems to entirely capture the joy of celebrating the festivals as well as being full of information.
