Lovely illustrations in this book about how a child can overcome anxieties. Nicholas has started school and there are group of 'wild ones' who made his first day an unpleasant one. Dad and Gramps gave him some 'tips' on how to deal with them but Gran knew Nicholas was an 'ideas man' and would come up with something himself. Nicholas designs things and one of his inventions wins over the 'wild ones' and so combats the bullying of the wild ones in a creative way.
