One Moonlit Night is a story of the adventure that a little girl has in her dream. Beautifully illustrated with detailed pop-up pictures, the story is simple to follow as the little girl flies away with a dragon, spots ogres and battles trolls before finally resting on a cloud with her friendly dragon. The pop-up pictures bring the story alive; you could spend a very long time looking at them but although this concept of the story is a wonderful idea, I would have liked it to have been longer and more detailed to support the fantastic illustrations. In the classroom, this book could be used to promote fictional writing about dreams; you could produce some fantastic pieces of artwork copied from, or inspired by, the illustrations in the books. For older children, perhaps you could use this story as part of a topic creating pop-up books in DT lessons. 16 pages / Ages 3+ / Reviewed by Lizi Coombs, teacher.
