We love the 'Peekaboo' book series in this household! It's the perfect book for babies around six months old who love to play peekaboo and who are observant and noticing more and more things in their environment. Peekaboo is likely to be a familiar phrase to your baby and, as this is repeated on every page, this book gives our baby that familiarity and happy feeling that they feel when you play peekaboo with them.

Peekaboo Zoo is my favourite from the series as an early years educator as I can see so much opportunity in this book to expose tiny babies to words and illustrations of animals that they may never before have come across, from camels to flamingos. Each page contains a slide tab which brings something hidden into sight, from hippos to baby penguins. These tabs are great for encouraging our littlest babies to use their fine motor skills in different ways as they need to slide their little fingers in all sorts of directions (horizontal, vertical and curved).

Our favourite page in this series is the final page where it always ends with a 'Peekaboo… you!' mirror. It's great for our baby's every-growing sense of self as they spot that familiar reflection looking back at them each time they engage with the book. There are so many more books to love in this series and the series is growing all the time! To me, it’s just as iconic as the 'That's not my…' book series.
