The ever-popular mouse and rabbit, Pip and Posy, from the BAFTA-nominated pre-school TV series, are back again - this time with a Halloween special. This series focuses on navigating friendships and is a series that is so relatable to children aged between 3-6 who are learning to deal with scenarios within the ups and downs of friendships.
In Pip and Posy: Frankie's Fine Monster, Posy is hosting a Halloween party. The friends are all thrilled at the prospect and immediately run over to the fancy dress box to start planning their outfits. Pip, Posy and Zak all pick out various accessories to help them get into character, while Frankie decides to use her very own face paints to turn herself into a monster. This sounds all too cool and Frankie’s friends ask if they can have their faces painted too. Frankie is ever so generous but her friends end up using all of the paint before she gets the chance to turn herself into a Frankie Fine Monster. Will Frankie's friends be able to make it up to her?
This book is a refreshing take on a Halloween book as it focuses less on the spooky and more on the deeper moral of the story - being a good friend. Frankie's friends work together to come up with a solution to help their friend. Sometimes it is those smaller acts of kindness which don't cost a thing that can be most special and meaningful.
If your child likes this story, they may also like the Christmas edition, The Best Christmas Ever, and the activity book Countdown to Christmas, which would be a great addition to their Christmas list.
