From the bestselling author of Gangsta Granny and Demon Dentist comes another hilarious, action-packed and touching novel - the story of a little girl called Zoe. Things are not looking good for Zoe. Her stepmother Sheila is so lazy she gets Zoe to pick her nose for her. The school bully Tina Trotts makes her life a misery - mainly by flobbing on her head. And now the evil Burt from Burt's Burgers is after her pet rat! And guess what he wants to do with it? The clue is in the title...

From the author that is being called 'a new Roald Dahl', Ratburger is not to be missed!

Alice

This story has a vile villain, some terrible teachers, a dead hamster and a dare-devil rat so expect lots of danger, some near disasters and many thrills! Zoe isnt having a great time. She lives on the 37th floor of a council flat, she is bullied, her dad is always in the pub and she has the worst step mum in the world who spends all the familys money on prawn-flavoured crisps. Then Zoes hamster dies. Its only when a new pet comes along, a baby rat, that things start to look a little brighter but then the rat, called Armitage, is stolen by an evil rat catcher. When the rat-catcher threatens to turn Armitage into a burger, so begins Zoes fight back which involves a secret warehouse full of rats, a burger machine, lots of rubbish and some squished people. There are plenty of twists and turns in this story, and more flavours of icecream than you've had hot dinners! 320 pages / Ages 8+ / Reviewed by Alice Childs
