How did they die? Can Alice unlock their secrets? Can she find out who murdered her sister? Alice's role is reminiscent of the 'Ghost Whisperer' - she sets out to help these 'souls' come to terms with what has happened to them and in the process, falls in love - but is this love real or virtual? As she becomes more entangled and drawn to life on Soul Beach, in the 'real' world she gets closer to finding her sister's murderer, putting herself in danger. The book is a fast paced exciting murder/mystery for the confident reader, but it is also much more than that. Many life issues are highlighted within its pages - sibling rivalry, bereavement, grief, hero worship, love, passion, obsessions, anorexia, friendships... things are not always what they seem in the 'real' world.
