Reviews

Linda

Captain of Fates is a spin-off adventure from the wonderful Twin Crowns series and in this standalone novel, author Katherine Webber has done it again. Her words are like the mermaids song that she describes… they will simply enchant you and keep you immersed in this story until the very last page….

Captain Marino is wedded to the sea, this is what he keeps telling his Queen and his sister Celeste and that he will never marry as they keep trying to find him his true love. However, when a tragedy happens to his sister, he goes on a desperate search for the cure to save her. Will the captain be able to find it in time? Will Marino use and control his magic like never before in order to save those he loves?

This search not only brings him close to the cure but to feelings that he has never had before.  On Solvora, the strange land he has become stranded on, he finds everything that he has been searching for, even the love of a woman he never really knew he wanted.

I have enjoyed every twist and turn of this wonderful adventure, which is full of magic, mermaids, witches, humour and of course romance. It is suitable for the 12+ reader. My advice… get it and enjoy, you will not be disappointed. Oh, one more thing, there will be another standalone next year, King of Beasts. This is by the other wonderful author of this series Catherine Doyle, and I can't wait to read it.
