That Bird Can Draw is a lovely new picture book from Ged Adamson. The story starts with a granddaughter painting her grandad's new bird, Vera. Grandad always says that his granddaughter is the best artist, until one day Vera, his bird, shows her talents of . . . ART! That bird can paint, collage, sculpt and decorate and Grandad thinks Vera is also a great artist. Unfortunately, the granddaughter feels that she is no longer any good and stops creating her art, until one day Vera creates something rather special for her . . .
This is a sweet story about never giving up on something you are passionate about and how there can be more than one great artist in the world! Alongside the humour of the story this is a great story to share with children and spark discussions about talents and sharing these, working as a team and as well as perseverance. I look forward to sharing this one with my class.
