The Dark that Hides Us is a fantastic continuation of an unforgettable journey that the four friends have been through and it will keep you totally immersed until the very last page…

Alexis, Demi, Blaise, and Caeli lie in wait as the Haven prepares for the Battle of Stonehenge - a fight between light and darkness, good and evil. Mortem looms ever closer, threatening to engulf the world in shadow. As the night unfolds, secrets are revealed and uncomfortable truths emerge. The world isn't what it seems... and perhaps a little darkness lives in them all.

This sequel to The Light That Blinds Us delivers in every way. We continue to follow the original crew - Alexis, Demi, Caeli, and Blaise -on their desperate quest to defeat the darkness. The battle scenes are epic, full of action, fast-paced and will put the reader through so many heart-wrenching emotions, they absolutely do not disappoint. The author has not only given us Alexis's POV, he has also added the standout element of the POV from Blaise. It is rewarding to get deeper into his character, showing the reader that beneath his tough exterior there is someone vulnerable and real. ( Hopefully in the next book we will gain the same depth from Demi and Caeli ).

The Dark that Hides Us is action-packed from beginning to end and will have the reader feeling a rollercoaster of emotions - fast-paced and full of surprises, all perfect for the 13+ reader. Oh, one more thing… that ending! The twist sets up perfectly for book three. Here's hoping we won't have to wait long to get our hands on it.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves high-stakes fantasy with deep character development. You won't be disappointed.
