Synopsis
Tyrannosaurus rex may be the king of the dinosaurs, but that doesn't stop know-it-all Velociraptor from telling him he looks old-fashioned and needs a makeover. So, with an improved posture, some restyled body parts and a coat of shaggy feathers, T. rex gets a new look to match the latest evidence. From the authors of The Plesiosaur's Neck, The Tyrannosaur's Feathers takes an amusing and informative look at how new discoveries have transformed our understanding of T. rex's appearance since this giant prehistoric predator was first unearthed over a century ago.

The Tyrannosaur's Feathers is a fantastic, current book based around how new findings and research have changed what we already know (or think we know!) about the past. For any dinosaur-mad child, or as part of a dinosaur topic of work, this is an ideal book to challenge previous discoveries and beliefs.
The story takes the structure of a rather humorous discussion between a little dinosaur, with all the latest dinosaur research and findings, and a T-Rex. Each page has a detailed fact section about dinosaurs and builds on previous research, new findings and possible changes to original predictions. Little Dinosaur gives T-Rex a makeover based on new research, with new colours, posture and even feathers. Unfortunately for T-Rex, it still stands that they had very small arms!
The bright, contrasting illustrations add detail and extra humour to this book, engaging any reader. The Tyrannosaur's Feathers is a great book with facts right through to the end, where there is a 'Latest Evidence' section which children will love given that there's mention of prehistoric poo!
