Synopsis

Prepare to enter the world of the Unfairies! A bestselling, hilarious new full-colour graphic novel series from breakout talent Huw Aaron, where the epic adventure of Amulet meets the super silly humour of Bunny VS Monkey and Dog Man . . . all on the scale of The Borrowers . . .

Some stories will tell you fairies are sweet, kind, magical creatures. Well, those stories are WRONG. It's time everyone knew the truth: fairies are sneaky, violent and about as magical as slugs.

Join our RECKLESS, FEARLESS and, well, CLUELESS, hero Pip on a breakneck adventure among the warring unfairy tribes of The Garden. Expect sinister plots, dubious ancient prophecies, thrilling centipede chases, a bit of bug-bum honey . . . and a hero who doesn't give two hoots about anything.

"I loved everything about this book. It's just SO funny' - Rob Biddulph, bestselling author of the Draw With Rob and Peanut Jones series.  'You'll be wowed . . . Unfairies is enviably bonkers and I loved it.' - Sheena Dempsey, bestselling author of Pablo and Spash.

Watch out for book two - Unfairies: Death By Toad - coming May 2026!

Huw Aaron's Unfairies is a bright and beautifully illustrated graphic novel that had me hooked from the first page. This is definitely not a typical fairy tale; it's an epic adventure packed with humour and crammed with chaos. Our hero, Pip, is a feisty fairy on a mission - or rather, he starts on a simple mission to deliver a report. However, things quickly spiral out of control, transforming his task into a quest of vital importance; finding food for all the fairies, and searching for a hero prophesied to save them all!

The artwork is phenomenal, bursting with vibrant colours and larger-than-life characters. The illustrations and pacy storyline perfectly capture the non-stop action and silliness that permeates the story. With lots of visual humour, children will love to pore over the pages just to absorb the crazy details.

Readers will be kept on their toes by the story's unpredictability. Just when you think you know where the adventure is heading, Huw Aaron throws in a curveball, leading to hilarious and unexpected twists. The characters Pip meets along the way are equally unique and memorable, each bringing their individual personalities, quirks and talents to the table. Will Pip, with the help of his new friends, manage to find their hero and secure enough food before it's too late? You'll have to read it to find out!

Unfairies is a must-read for children (and adults!) who enjoy graphic novels full of humour, adventure, and beautifully imagined worlds. It's a chaotic masterpiece that I definitely recommend.
