Over the past year my daughter and I have read many graphic novels (comic books); we love them. This is another one to add to our collection. As soon as my daughter, age nine, saw the book, she was reading. She then recounted the origin story and first adventure to the whole family.

Super Unicorn Princess is a superhero who works to save her city on a daily basis. Along side her friend Tek-7, they fight crime and evil inventions. In her first adventure she needs to work out how to defeat ice-cream monsters.

I love the origin story, how Super Unicorn Princess became SUP. It will have children cackling with laughter. The illustrations are fabulous, full of colour and emotions. You can read the story just using the images.

This series will be really accessible for children who struggle with reading. It's a wonderful graphic novel; readers will be waiting with bated breath for the next in the series.
