Wands Away: Spell Class takes the reader to term 2 at Wands Away School. Romona Spellstar is heading back. What will she learn this time? Will there be any adventures? Will there be new friends?
Wands Away is a great series for children new to novels. The story has lovely descriptive language which makes you feel like you are at this school; not an ordinary school, but an outside school in the woods! What child would not want to be there?
A great bedtime book, book for independent reading or a book for a teacher to read to their class. I will definitely be buying the rest of the series for my class!

Wands Away: Spell Class is written by the fantastically talented Emma Farrarons. She has masterfully created a world where we join young people on a residential camp, learning magic. What child would not want to be part of that! The way that all of the antics are described draws the reader in and keeps them engaged from cover to cover.
The illustrations are designed to ensure that they add to the readers' experience, adding humour and depth to the text. The word placement and quantity of words on a page is perfect for the targeted audience and I know that young chapter book readers will be adding their names to the waiting list to borrow this wonderful book.
In class this could be used as a class reader or a focus group book but I would want to make sure that the wonderful illustrations were also shared. The request to collect the Wands Away badges will really resonate with a lot of young readers who will be collecting badges in guiding, scouting or other organisations. I look forward to adding to my Spell Class badge.
