What child wouldn't be drawn to a brightly coloured book with a dragon and a princess on the front? Princess Minna: The Dragon Egg Hunt grabbed the attention of all the children in my class (ages 5 and 6) straight away!
Minna lives with her parents, a dragon and a wizard in a castle. Her best friend is Lorenzo the dragon. In this adventure, Lorenzo is setting up a dragon egg hunt for their friends in the kingdom. He gets his mum to make the eggs but on the morning of the hunt they all awake to the sound of seagull. This is a sign in the kingdom that something is wrong. Lorenzo's mum has sent an egg to the castle which should not be there. How will they find it? Can they find it in time?
Princess Minna: The Dragon Egg Hunt is full of adventure and excitement. I would love to have been a part of the hunt! The illustrations are fabulous with bright pops of colour. Sahar Haghgoo has captured this kingdom well.
This is a perfect book for children who have learned all there phonics (end of year 1 / six-year-olds) or children who are ready for a longer bedtime story that can be read over several nights. I will be looking out for other books in this series for my class to enjoy.
