Perfect for dipping into or for reading cover to cover, this is a lively and accessible introduction to the drama, life and legacy of the great man. An excellent book for using in the classroom, 'What's So Special...' includes a detailed timeline at the back which includes many world events alongside those of Shakespeare's life and events in England. This offers many opportunities for further research into many areas which children might not otherwise find out about. Each chapter is fairly short and sprinkled with illustrations and cartoons, creating a light-hearted, humorous tone. There are also various quotes from the plays where appropriate to the text.
